TrafficAngel was contacted by Anna of WPJ group (who specialise in shop fitting and high-pressure cleaning) in September 2023; she wanted to discuss getting a live camera system installed on one of their Peugeot Boxer Luton vans, so as always, we discussed the specification in detail and provided a quotation to supply and fit exactly what was required. The quotation was approved, and a date was booked for Late October.

First Problem and Solution for WPJ Group
We installed a high-definition 4-camera system, linked to a 4G-enabled DVR and a 7-inch HD monitor. The monitor was configured to automatically display the nearside, offside, or rear camera when the vehicle is signaling to turn or is in reverse. Once the system was connected to our LiveDrive server, Anna and her colleagues were able to connect to the vehicle remotely, stream video from all 4 cameras, see the vehicle’s position and speed on a map, and, if needed, play back video stored on the hard drive in the event of an incident.
We provided remote technical support to get the LiveDrive and playback apps installed, and training for operating and using the system and software.
Second Problem and Solution for WPJ Group
We were contacted by Anna again in November, this time wanting to discuss getting an extensive interior and exterior lighting system installed alongside a leisure battery. After some in-depth discussions over a couple of months regarding their requirements, we again provided a quotation for the work and arranged a 2-day block in March to carry out the installation due to the amount of work required.
We fitted a pair of amber strobe lights on the front and rear of the vehicle body with an additional pair on the front bumper (controlled by an illuminated rocker switch in the cab), a pair of work lights on each side of the body (each pair independently controlled with their own switch in the cab), interior LED lights inside the vehicle body (controlled by a PIR for automatic operation) and a tail lift alarm to warn the operator that the tail lift has not been switched off at the rear of the vehicle.

All the new lighting was connected to a leisure battery installed under the passenger bench seat and linked to the main battery via a split-charge relay to keep the leisure battery topped up.
This was one of our more complex and challenging jobs due to the amount of hardware being fitted and the way it was all wired in and controlled. However, our engineers were more than up to the task, and the customer ended up with a versatile and comprehensive set of safety equipment that suited their specific needs exactly. Anna was very pleased with the solution and how well it worked.
If you require recording/live camera systems, vehicle lighting, Progressive Safe Systems, or external pedestrian/cyclist warning alarms, please get in touch, and one of our team will be happy to discuss in detail all aspects of the work and provide a competitive quotation. We pride ourselves on top-class customer service and a personal approach to working together, which has earned us repeat business from our loyal customer base year after year.
Please contact us with any camera and/or parts-related questions, and our team will create a bespoke solution for you, tailored to your needs. We look forward to hearing from you!
In addition, Anna requested an additional rear camera to record a larger area behind the vehicle when people are working nearby. This required upgrading the DVR to an 8-channel version, so we offered a generous trade-in deal to buy back the 4-channel model that was already fitted.
