Over 20 years of making vehicles and workplaces safer.
Since 2003, TrafficAngel has grown from a small family-run business into an established supplier of vehicle and workplace safety solutions across the UK. While our products, technology and team have evolved over the years, our approach has remained the same: understanding the challenges businesses face and developing practical solutions to address them.
From transport and logistics to construction and industrial operations, we continue to adapt our technology and services to meet the changing safety needs of the industries we support.
Our Journey So Far
2003 — Where It All Began
TrafficAngel’s story began in 2003, when our founder, Steven Ransom, witnessed an HGV driver struggling to reverse through a narrow factory entrance, holding up traffic on a busy village high street. Realising the need for better visibility and safer reversing, Steven drew on his engineering background to find a practical solution. Just two months later, Reversing Made Easy Ltd was born, starting with reversing camera installations for commercial vehicles.
2005 — Growing the Business
Steven’s brother, John, joined the company as demand for vehicle camera installations continued to grow. What started with a local van dealership gradually expanded to other commercial fleets.
2008 — Our First Major Fleet Project
A major milestone came when Tesco ordered 500 nearside front sensor systems to help reduce vehicle damage. Sainsbury’s soon followed, marking the company’s expansion into large-scale fleet safety installations.
2012 — TrafficAngel Was Born
As our product range expanded beyond reversing cameras, we needed a name that reflected what we had become. Reversing Made Easy Ltd became TrafficAngel, with a growing team of employees.
2014 — Expanding into Vehicle Recording
We introduced vehicle recording systems to our product range, supporting more transport operators with incident recording, vehicle visibility and fleet safety.
2019 — Supporting the Direct Vision Standard
As Transport for London introduced the Direct Vision Standard (DVS), TrafficAngel expanded its focus on compliant vehicle safety solutions, helping fleet operators prepare for the new requirements.
2023–2024 — The Next Phase of DVS
With the introduction of the Progressive Safe System (PSS) requirements, we continued supporting HGV operators with updated camera, sensor and warning systems designed to meet the latest London safety standards.
2026 — Beyond Vehicle Safety
Our focus has expanded into construction and workplace safety with PlantShield360, our AI-powered Human Form Recognition system for detecting pedestrians around moving machinery.
We’ve also broadened our range with anti-theft locking technology and TiltMate, a sensor system designed to alert operators to unsafe vehicle and tipper body positions.
